BLACKMAN; Hugh R. E. passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, December 18, 2015, in Fort Washington, Maryland, at the age of 76. Hugh, who held the position of Programme Director at Radio Trinidad, before relocating to the Washington metropolitan area, in 1979, is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Josiane Blackman (née Beauregard); his daughters, Christiane Blackman Steward (Samuel), Caroline Blackman (David Porter), and Olivia Lewis (Elwood); his granddaughters, Chloe Steward and Sophia Lewis, and step-grandson, Lake Porter; his sisters, Winifred Bertrand, and Shirley Ann Blackman; his sisters-in-law, Arlene Blackman and Monique Weiler (Jacques); his thirteen nieces and nephews, and eight great-nieces and nephews, whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fitzgerald and Gertrude Blackman; his siblings, Dorothy Blackman, Ruth Sengat-Kuo, and Kenneth Blackman; his brothersin- law, Orlando S. Bertrand, Jr., Franç ois Sengat-Kuo, and Jean Beauregard (Gilberte); and his cherished nephews, Patrick Sengat-Kuo and Jean- Marc Beauregard.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Foundry United Methodist Church, in Washington, DC.
